Temecula never disappoints

Wine!
Wine!

Oh, Temecula, I’m glad you are a 90-minute drive away, otherwise, I could be in trouble. This Southern California Wine region never fails to disappoint me. This time I was treated to a trip for my 50th Birthday – I can’t quite believe I’m half a century old – but hey ho.

Leoness Wineries

This is my new favorite place in the whole world! It’s an amazing place to go and chill out and they have wines to suit every budget! So much so that we joined their wine club! Any excuse to go back once a month to collect my bottle of wine and enjoy my free 8 glasses of wine and discount on the member’s patio! All for $39 per month! You just cannot go wrong! Fond memories are always made here, even with our friend from England who had to go for a pee like a 5-year-old, trousers around his ankles while standing at the urinal – Funny guy! The food here was unbelievable – the Salt and Vinegar fries and the charcuterie boards were out of this world! I so need to work out how to make these! Their red wines are delicious and big, my favorite of the day was the 2016 Hui Zinfandel, a super red! Check out their website here

Europa Village

Onto the Europa Village for the second stop. Kinda disappointed in the wines this time. I suspect that’s my fault for just choosing wrongly. They have a really quaint replica Parisienne type bar here, which in the summertime overlooks beautiful beds of fragrant roses – it’s a superb location and a brilliant place to hang out. Check it out here

Wilsons Creek Sparkling Cab

Finally, after much revelry in the other two, we hit my wife’s favorite winery – Wilsons Creek. This is the winery with the most generous pours in my view, nearly double (if not more) of any other winery we have visited. Their sparkling wines are in general a lot of fun to drink, well priced and are great to take to a party!

Oh, my word, I tasted the Sparkling White Cabernet Sauvignon – That is out of this world and one of the best sparkling wines from that region that I have ever tasted!

Fun times, well worth a visit – see you next month Temecula!
