San Juan Capistrano – date night!
So if you live in Orange County, So. Cal. and you haven’t been to San Juan Capistrano for a date night then I would highly recommend it. It has some fantastic bars, cafes, and restaurants that you can choose from. Wifey, I and a couple of our friends went out last Friday for drinks and appetizers, from what I can remember it was a good night! You’d think I knew better at my age, but oh no, my head hurt the next morning.
Five Vines – a cool little wine bar for a cozy date night
We hit three places as we embarked on our trip to sample as much of everything as we could in one evening. Starting off at Five Vines, a delightful little wine bar, the wife enjoyed her flight of bubbles while the remaining three quickly sunk two bottles of an absolute kicking Rose – Frisk! and demolished a Charcuterie board between the four of us. I think it was safe to say that we all need a drink on Friday. By the way, this is voted one of the top 25 wine bars in the USA!
After two bottles of wine, I actually didn’t really care that I had the week from hell at work. I was really starting to enjoy our double date night.
Trevor’s at the tracks doesn’t disappoint
Anyway, onto the second pitstop of the night, Trevor’s At The Track, a fantastic bar (not so sure about the live singer this time around) which serves some pretty amazing appetizers, we consumed another Charcuterie board, bacon wrapped dates, a flatbread and steak fries with pico de gallo and some horrible green stuff called Avocado! (I obviously picked out the terrible green stuff). This is where I switched my drinks up a little, my head was telling me the next morning I shouldn’t have done it. But what the hell, Old Fashioned for me. They were generous with the bourbon too! 🙂
This is where the evening gets a bit blurred for me :). We then went to our final destination Hennessy’s for a nightcap. Beer for me, I was sure mixing it up a bit that night. Live band on here too, 3 dudes probably a little older than me who were actually pretty good and played some cool 80’s music.
Then apparently home in an Uber – now I really cannot remember anything from this point, but what a fun night out!
