5 Everything but the Bagel Appetizers

Everything but the Bagel seasoning is taking the world by storm. If you haven’t had it as yet then you need to try it. It combines white and black sesame seeds, sea salt, minced garlic, minced onion, and poppy seeds (all dried). Its the perfect blend of seasoning to use with so many different dishes. There are many brands now available, but my favorite remains the one you get in Trader Joes.

If you want to keep your Everything but the Bagel seasoning fresh and avoid clumping then check out this handy tip

Our family absolutely loves it, and we use it on many meals, ranging from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Picky eaters don’t mind it either, with the world’s number one pickiest eater (our youngest) even asking for it tonight to go on his hotdog 🙂

Have you thought about how you might use this with an appetizer? To give you a headstart here are 5 that I have come up with.

  1. Homemade bread and dipping sauce
  2. Mini Tomato Tarts
  3. Baked Brussel Sprouts with a Balsamic Glaze
  4. Asparagus wrapped in Bacon
  5. Cheese Ball

Homemade Bread and dipping sauce with Everything but the Bagel

Make your bread dough as you would normally but add a tablespoon or two of the Everything but the Bagel seasoning to the dry ingredients. Once your ready to bake your bread, sprinkle a little on the top. Make up a quick dipping sauce with some good quality Olive oil and Balsamic Vinegar. Serve with bread still warm – delicious.

Mini Tomato Tarts

Take some puff pastry, cut out 3-inch squares and score the pastry all around about 1.5cm in from the edge, inside of the scoreline add your sun-dried tomatoes and sprinkle generously with the seasoning. Bake until the pastry is nice and golden brown.

Baked Brussel Sprouts with a Balsamic Glaze

These are one of my favorites and are always my first choice when they are on the menu in a restaurant. Simply to do as well. You can either make the glaze (see my recipe here) or buy it ready made. Quarter the sprouts, place on a baking tray, sprinkle with glaze and Everything but the Bagel Seasoning, bake until nice and crispy, they don’t take long at around 400F. Serve warm.

Asparagus wrapped in bacon

Take two Asparagus Spears, and wrap in some good quality bacon, sprinkle with the seasoning and bake until cooked – Yummy

Cheese Ball rolled in Everything but the Bagel

Create your cheese ball using your favorite cheese, roll the entire thing in Everything but the Bagel Seasoning and just enjoy with some good quality crackers.

So there you have it, five simple and delicious appetizers that you can serve at any dinner party or simple share around the table during family mealtime. Pair with your favorite wine and you’re all set for an unforgettable meal.
